A semester’s worth of hard work and dedication by the Media Arts – Digital Cinema & Media sophomores -- will be shown on the big screen next week.
Four student-produced short films will premiere at the Norfolk 7 Theatre on Saturday, May 3. Doors open at 9:30 a.m. and the premiere starts at 10 a.m.
The writer-director students are Charlie Henkel, Norfolk; Adin Evins, Hartington; Jake Ponto, Battle Creek; and Nathan Sievert, Norfolk.
Each was responsible for conceptualizing, casting, editing, directing and finalizing their very own short films - all in the span of their final spring semester. Genres include drama, faux documentary and horror. The films are rated PG-13 and below.
The showing is free and open to the public (movie goers must pay for their own concessions). There will be a directors’ Q & A immediately following the films, with discussion guided by Drew Dolezal, media arts instructor.
Short-film premiere
There’s something exciting about seeing local scenes on the big screen, which usually happens during the Northeast Community College annual short-film premiere. This year’s free showing at the Norfolk 7 Theatre will be on Saturday, May 7, at 10 a.m. (Northeast Community College)
