NORFOLK, Neb. -- The Northeast Jazz Ensemble (NAJE) has been selected to perform at the Nebraska State Bandmaster’s Association Convention later this week.
The group will perform the opening concert of the convention on Thursday, March 6, for band directors from across the state. NAJE will be one of only four groups chosen to perform from recorded auditions.
NAJE is a registered non-profit organization that performs in the Norfolk micropolitan area for various events that include the Norfolk Lion’s Club pancake feed, community concerts, and open-air programs. The group co-sponsors the Northeast Jazz Festival that takes place at the end of March on the Northeast Community College campus.
The Northeast Area Jazz Ensemble is led by Kevin McLouth, music instructor at Northeast Community College.
