NORFOLK, Neb. – Auditions for a comedy that was a hit on Broadway, then a blockbuster movie and later a TV show are scheduled for next week at Northeast Community College.
The Northeast/Norfolk Community Theatre will be performing Neil Simon’s “The Odd Couple,” with auditions scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, Jan. 13-14, at 7 p.m. at the Cox Activities Center.
The story centers on two single pals – a sloppy sportswriter and a fastidious news writer – who strain their friendship by turning into roommates. They unconsciously repeat the same mistakes they made in the marriages they just left.
The play premiered on Broadway in 1965, was the third highest grossing film in 1968, then was the basis for a TV series in the 1970s.
Performances will be Feb. 27-28, and March 1-2. Anyone from college students to members of the community is invited to audition. Questions may be directed to info@nctheatre.org.
