Robotics Trainer Welcomed to iHub Team

Robotics Trainer Welcomed to iHub Team

NORFOLK, Neb. -- The newest member of the Northeast Community College iHub team is robotics trainer Henry Goeden.

iHub Director Erin Sorensen said Goeden joined the team in July.

“Henry has been pivotal in advancing the iHub’s mission to support workforce development, youth outreach, and innovation across the 20-county area,” she said.

Sorensen said that Goeden, who previously worked with Northeast Community College’s apprenticeship programs, brings a deep understanding of the college, the region, and the critical need for skilled workers to his new job.

“In his short time with the iHub,” Sorensen said, “Henry has already made a significant impact. From leading youth robotics camps at the YMCA, Norfolk Public Library, and The Zone to supporting regional robotics teams, his efforts have energized students and community partners alike.”

Goeden also serves as the adviser of the college’s robotics club, fostering talent and passion among students pursuing advanced robotics skills.

“It’s already been an incredible experience to lead initiatives across the entire student lifecycle – from hands-on elementary school activities to adult and industry training,” Goeden said. “The impact of STEM education, including robotics and automation, is so inspiring. Every day I see students light up as they develop skills that lead to high-paying, exciting, and innovative jobs. This pipeline of talent is pivotal for companies in our region to grow and stay competitive.”

In addition to his outreach efforts, Goeden has been busy preparing for the iHub’s industry-level credentialing programs. He is undergoing extensive training and certification in areas such as technician-level robotics applications to advanced sensors, PLC programming, and Ethernet operations. These skills will support the launch of the iHub’s first pilot credentialing robotics program, planned for spring 2025.

The iHub is slated to officially open in spring 2026. Until then, programming and events will continue to be hosted at off-site locations across the region, ensuring uninterrupted access to robotics training, camps, and outreach initiatives.

From community spaces to partner facilities, the iHub remains committed to bringing cutting-edge robotics and STEM opportunities to learners of all ages.
