Winter Concert Included Some Familiar Holiday Selections

NORFOLK, Neb. – Some people say that the greatest music is traditionally heard around the holidays.

The Northeast Community College Music Department had those tastes covered during a recent winter concert at the Lifelong Learning Center on the Norfolk campus, mixing in some holiday favorites as part of the show. The College/Community Concert Band and College Choir performed.

Selections included themes from “Nutcracker Suite” by the Community/College Concert Band and “A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad Madrigal” by the College Choir, among many others during the hour-long event.

Music can mean a variety of things to different people and the concert offered something for almost everyone. The annual concert offers the public a chance to gather themselves before the holiday season rush. For students, it offers a break from studies.

The vocal director was Margaret Schultz, with Linda Boullion the accompanist. The instrumental director was Kevin McLouth.

The concert was livestreamed and may be viewed at https://team1sports.com/northeastcc/. Go to the On Demand and look for the Northeast Holiday Concert on Nov. 17.
