Registration open for girls' Find Your Future Career Camp at Northeast

NORFOLK, NE - High school-aged girls will have the opportunity to explore careers traditionally held by men at a free career camp to be held at Northeast Community College this summer.

Find Your Future Career Camp will meet Tuesday, June 11, and Wednesday, June 12, on Northeast’s Norfolk campus.

This camp’s all-day sessions are dedicated to showing girls their potential in high-wage, high-skill and high-demand careers. The two days will be spent exploring Northeast’s pre-professional engineering and welding programs with current faculty, working on hands-on activities and learning how Northeast can help prepare students for their careers. The camp will also include local industry tours and leadership activities.

Registration is limited to the first 20 applicants and is available to girls who will be in grades 10 through 12 for the 2019-20 school year.

The camp is offered free of charge.

To register, visit https://northeast.edu/2019/Find-Your-Future. For more information, contact Makala Williams in the Early College department at (402) 844-7118 or makala@northeast.edu.

This activity was partially funded with federal Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 funds administered through the Nebraska Department of Education, grant number V048A180027.
