Northeast PBL students attend Nebraska Fall Leadership Conference

OMAHA, NE – Members of Northeast Community College’s Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) club had the opportunity to build their leadership skills at a statewide conference held in Omaha recently.

Seven Northeast business students traveled to Omaha to Create, Lead and Inspire as they participated in the Nebraska Fall Leadership Conference hosted by PBL.

Northeast students who attended include Shanae Baker, Petersburg; Hunter Bergman, Neligh; Jarret Cerny, Norfolk; Brittney Dederman, Norfolk; Hunter Delaolla, Stanton; Zaine Gallagher, Norfolk; and Madison Reynoldson, Norfolk.

Angie Shaffer, Northeast instructor and PBL advisor, also attended.

“The PBL students had the opportunity to listen to leading experts in the business field and interact with them on a one-on-one basis. This networking experience will prove beneficial for their career search.”

The conference kicked off in Gretna at restaurant LOCAL, where Johanna Boston, chief marketing officer for Nebraska Crossing Outlet Mall, gave a presentation. Alec Gorynski, vice president of community development and corporate philanthropy for First National Bank, delivered the event’s keynote address on Omaha’s Gallup Campus.

The students also attended a networking luncheon that included 19 business professionals from Gallup, Tabitha, Cognitive Clinical Trials, Conagra, INSPRO Insurance, Sandhills Publishing, Omaha’s Henry Doorly Zoo & Aquarium, First State Insurance Agency, Valmont Industries and Independent Insurance Agents of Nebraska.
