NORFOLK, NE - Clark Kaufman, investigative reporter for the Des Moines Register, (second from left) speaks during a Community Conversation on “An Issue of Trust: Democracy and the Future of Journalism” that was held recently at Northeast Community College.

Also on the panel are Kent Warneke, editor of the Norfolk Daily News (left), Jenna Johnson, a national political correspondent for the Washington Post, and Frank Partsch, retired editorial page editor for the Omaha World-Herald. The topic was the first of six similar discussions, sponsored by Humanities Nebraska, to be held across the state in the coming weeks. A crew from Nebraska Educational Telecommunications (NET) was also on hand to film the 90-minute event to air at a later date. This was the latest Community Conversation sponsored by the Daily News, Calmwater Financial, and Northeast Community College.
