NORFOLK, NE - Northeast Community College student Brandon Sneller (left), Sioux City, IA, assists Kelsey Aschoff, Norfolk, with soldering a Raspberry Pi as part of Raspberry Pi Karoake Camp held at Northeast recently.
At the two-day camp, high school students learned to build a karaoke machine from scratch using the HDMI and audio outputs of the Raspberry Pi, a small, single-board computer. The camp included hands-on activities that built skills and knowledge used in every career level of information technology. Students also learned to write code as they worked on their karaoke machines from start to finish. The camp was partially funded with federal Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 funds administered through the Nebraska Department of Education, grant number V048A170027.
