Vocal selections at the concert will include “If Music Be the Food of Love,” Lascia Ch’io Pianga,” “Nightfall,” “Hark, I Hear the Harps Eternal,” and “Stodola Pumpa.”
Margaret Schultz is the accompanist.
The Northeast College/Community Concert Band, under the direction of Kevin McLouth, music instructor/director of instrumental activities, will also perform.
Selections by the concert band will include Mozart’s “Overture from the Magic Flute,” “Sullivan’s Operatic Gems,” “Carmen Suite,” “I. Overture.” “III. Toreador Song,” and “Let It Go” from the Disney animated film, “Frozen.” Boullion will serve as a soloist in the last piece.
In addition, a percussion ensemble will perform a “Few Good Men,” by Chris Brooks.
“Most mainstream ‘operas’ of today are called musicals, but if we stretch the definition just a little, we can include animated musicals,” McLouth said. “This concert is designed to be our salute to opera.”
The concert is free and open to the public.
