Northeast baseball picks up two wins over Mount Marty JV

NORFOLK, NE - The Northeast Community College baseball team picked up a pair of wins over Mount Marty College JV here yesterday. The Hawks defeated the Lancers 5-2 in the first game and 14-11 in the second.

In the first game, Christian Dumont was 1-for-2 with a double, two stolen bases, one RBI and two runs scored. Colin King finished 1-for-3 with two RBIs, and Jackson Tingwald was 2-for-2. Dylan Nicholson was the winning pitcher.

The second game saw Domanique Sanders going 1-for-3 with a home run, two RBIs and two runs scored. David Richardson (1-for-3) collected a triple, two RBIs and one run scored; Cale Hlavac (2-for-5), two RBIs and two runs scored; Brennen Bales (2-for-5), a double and two RBIs. Joe Jaramillo earned the win.

Northeast (9-17-1) will play a four-game set against conference rival North Iowa Area Community College on Friday and Saturday. The games, originally scheduled to be played in Mason City, IA, will now be played at Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk. Start times for the doubleheaders will be 1 p.m. on both days.
