Baseball drops two against Iowa Central in conference opener

NORFOLK, NE - The Northeast Community College opened conference play here yesterday, falling to Iowa Central Community College, 8-7 and 14-5.

The first game saw Donovan Warren going 2-for-4 with two runs. Tanner Hunt was 3-for-4 with one run, and Drew Smith finished 2-for-4 with an RBI. Dylan Wright took the loss.

In game two, Warren went 2-for-3 with one run and two stolen bases. Christian Dumont went 2-for-4 with a home run and one RBI, while Hunt was 1-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs. Cale Hlavac had the loss.

The Hawks' (7-15-1) four-game set against Iowa Central continues today at Veterans Memorial Field in Norfolk, with the doubleheader set to start at 1 p.m.
