NORFOLK, Neb. – Talented high school musicians from 24 area schools will come together at Northeast Community College for HAWKFEST, the College’s annual honor band and honor choir festival, on Monday, Oct. 5.
Students will spend the day on the Norfolk campus rehearsing with fellow musicians before performing a public concert at 5:30 p.m. in the Lifelong Learning Center.
Schools participating in this year’s festival include Allen, Aquinas, Battle Creek, Bloomfield, Boone Central, Cody-Kilgore, Elkhorn Valley, Hartington-Newcastle, Lincoln East, Lutheran High Northeast, Madison, Neligh-Oakdale, O’Neill, Osmond, Pender, Pierce, Plainview, Ponca, Randolph, Schuyler, Shelby-Rising City, Stanton, Wausa and Winside.
The concert will feature performances by the HAWKFEST Honor Band and Honor Choir. The program will culminate with United We Stand, bringing together the honor band, honor choir, Northeast College Choir, and participating directors for a combined performance.
The HAWKFEST concert is free and open to the public.
