Norfolk Iron and Metal invested $250,000 in the iHub project, and their name and logo are featured prominently on the wall of the Industrial and Robotics Lab.
At the recent ribbon-cutting for the iHub, Julie Robinson, who is on the Northeast Community College Board of Governors and a member of Norfolk Iron and Metal’s executive leadership team, said that experiential component is important for younger students.
“Young people today don’t want to hear about careers or read about careers,” Robinson said. “They want to see them, and they want to experience them.”
Erin Sharpe, iHub director, says the iHub is available for both individual and business use. Memberships are available with weekly, monthly, and annual rates, all of which include safety training.
