Known for dedication to both her colleagues and the students at Northeast Community College, Kim Vanosdall in the financial aid office is someone who genuinely wants to help.
“This person goes above and beyond every single day in her role,” said Northeast President Leah Barrett. “She exemplifies Northeast’s core values and serves as a true leader—championing student success, improving processes, and ensuring data-driven decisions across the institution.”
Vanosdall was chosen as the US Bank Great Performer for professional staff. She was presented with an award and $250 earlier this month.
Barrett said Vanosdall has volunteered her time and held leadership roles in the State Financial Aid Association, supporting other financial aid offices throughout the region with Banner processes. Most recently, she played an integral role in navigating FAFSA Simplification — incorporating complex changes into Banner setup and ensuring smooth transitions for students and staff alike. Her ability to adapt and lead through change demonstrates exceptional professionalism and resilience.
“Her collaborative spirit is unmatched. She builds strong relationships across departments and is always willing to share her expertise,” Barrett said.
The associate director of Financial Aid was nominated by Rachelle Kotnour, director of Institutional Research. Kotnour noted that Vanosdall is always gracious in answering questions about financial aid.
Colleagues describe Vanosdall as collaborative, approachable, and generous with her expertise. Vanosdall’s positivity, kindness, and professionalism foster an environment where collaboration thrives, elevating both the Financial Aid Office and the broader college community.
