The Northeast Community College Music Department is proud to sponsor A Touch of Brass in concert.
The brass quintet will perform on the Cox Activities Center stage at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 25. The concert will include a suite of West Side Story songs, some “Ancient Airs” and some Beatles.
A Touch of Brass is a professional brass quintet that has been in existence for over 40 years. The group is comprised of: Michael Genslinger, Kevin McLouth (trumpets), Gary Reeves (horn), Randy Neuharth (trombone), and Josh Calkin (Tuba).
Genslinger and Calkin are both professors of music at Wayne State College (assistant band director and band director, respectively). Reeves retired from the University of South Dakota and currently teaches adjunct at Morningside. Neuharth retired from Northeast, while McLouth is currently the band director at Northeast.
This program is free and open to the public.
