While a lot of Iowans and Nebraskans were talking turkey and football over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend, around Northeast Community College they were focused on beef.
That’s because Northeast hosted its annual Northeast Classic Livestock show.
Michael Roeber, Northeast agriculture/livestock judging instructor and event organizer, said exhibitors from Nebraska and Iowa took part in the cattle show at the Chuck Pohlman Agriculture Complex in Norfolk. The event included a market show and a breeding show, along with showmanship.
“Numbers were down due to the weather, but the quality of the livestock was still very high,” Roeber said.
The show is hosted by the Northeast Livestock Judging Team as a fundraiser for the team.
A total of 75 head of market animals were exhibited at the show. Judge for the show was Tigh Renken from Bertrand.
