Plans Made for Grand Opening of Maclay Building

Northeast Community College is pleased to announce the grand opening and ribbon cutting for the new Maclay building.

The events will take place on Wednesday, October 15, with a ribbon cutting at 4:45 p.m. and tours of the building at 5:15 p.m.

A committee has been meeting regularly to make plans for the event, which will include Business After Hours with the Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce. The festivities will take place on the outdoor patio behind Maclay, next to the lower-level entrance of Union 73.

Light hors d oeuvres/refreshments provided. Activities will conclude at 7 p.m. Additional details will be shared closer to the event.

The original Maclay Building opened in 1970. Just like its predecessor, the one level structure is in the heart of campus – only now it is equipped to handle modern technology and conveniences.

The Maclay Building will be celebrated with a ribbon cutting and tours. Activities are scheduled to begin outside of the northern entrance of the new building (left) in the plaza area shown just outside of Union 73. (Northeast Community College)
