Northeast FBLA Students Holding Awards

Eleven Northeast Community College business students returned recently from the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) - Collegiate National Leadership Conference in Dallas.

The students attended with two advisers, Angie Shaffer and Cara Hoehne, Northeast business instructors, after attending from May 30 to June 2.

The students and their hometowns were: Jacie Ambrose, Saint Paul, Nebraska; Roman Briley, Columbus; Parker Clausen, Norfolk; James Doyle, Osmond; Kennedie Gartner, Stanton; Schuyler Heesacker, Humphrey; Mori Lopez, Oroville, California; Manaseh Liphuka, Lilongwe, Malawi; Emma Meiergerd, West Point; Colton Schaefer, Creighton; and Gavin Van Driel, Norfolk.

Students attended an inspiring and dynamic conference that was designed to empower members and advisers through interactive workshops and sessions. Members networked with peers, grew their d leadership skills, and experienced Dallas, including a tour of the Cowboys’ AT&T Stadium. 

Here’s how Northeast students did in the contests:

Mori Lopez - 7th – Cybersecurity.  

James Doyle - 7th - Foundations of Computer Science. 

Mori Lopez - 8th - Foundations of computer science.

Jacie Ambrose, Parker Clausen and Colton Schaefer - 10th - Marketing, Sales, and Communication Case Competition. 

Jacie Ambrose - 7th - Public Speaking.

Who’s Who in National FBLA   - Jacie Ambrose. Awarded to one member from each state.

 Northeast at FBLA National Leadership Conference

Among the winners for Northeast Community College at the FBLA Collegiate National Leadership Conference was the Marketing, Sales and Communication Team (from left) of Colton Schaefer, Parker Clausen and Jacie Ambrose, earning 10th in the nation. Ambrose also finished seventh in the nation in public speaking and was named to Who’s Who in National FBLA.
