Northeast Community College and the Northeast Area Jazz Machine are proud to announce another collaboration to reinforce their symbiotic relationship.
Both are cosponsors of the Northeast Nebraska Jazz Collective. The Northeast Nebraska Jazz Collective is comprised of select-area high school students who were invited to participate.
The collective is meeting for two rehearsals and play a set during Northeast Area Jazz Ensemble’s performance at Black Cow Fat Pig on Wednesday, May 14. The music starts at 6:30 p.m. on the patio.
The Northeast Area Jazz Ensemble’s mission is to support jazz music making in the Northeast corner of the state. In keeping with this tradition, they have helped financially to get this project off the ground. Northeast Community College has contributed a rehearsal space.
The Northeast Nebraska Jazz Collective has students from the following schools: Pierce, Norfolk, Norfolk Catholic, Wayne and Plainview.
The group is led by Kevin McLouth of Northeast and Mike Sindt of Pierce.
