The Ag Drone Pilot certificate provides students with skills and knowledge in safely operating an uncrewed aerial system (UAS or drone), applying crop chemicals, identification of weeds, herbicide mode(s) of action, and precision agriculture. This coursework will prepare a student to take relevant FAA and Nebraska Department of Agriculture exams to obtain licenses needed for commercial pesticide application. This certificate can be completed in a single spring semester, but students who start in the fall will take two semesters to complete.
All coursework in this certificate program will apply as full credit toward an Agribusiness Associate of Applied Science Degree. Depending on the classes chosen for OR options, this degree can be fully applicable toward an Agronomy, Diversified Ag, or Precision Ag Associate of Applied Science Degree.
