Application and Eligibility

To be eligible for scholarship funding, you must complete the Northeast Community College Scholarship Application and have a current application on file with the admissions office.

The link to the Northeast Community College scholarship application is located on the Financial Aid Links Card in your My Northeast. Students can begin submitting October 1st each year, for next academic year. Refer to our Scholarship webpage for important application deadline dates.

Scholarships

Adult Education Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be enrolled in Adult Basic Education Courses.
  2. Students must have completed at least 12 hours of instruction.
  3. Students must have a test score of at least 500.
  4. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  5. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  6. Students must show financial need.

American Association for Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  2. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  3. Students must show financial need.

Arlo & Anne Wirth Memorial Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a graduate of Hartington Public School, Hartington CC, or Cedar County District 8.
  2. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  3. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  4. Students with financial need are considered.

Art Robertson First Generation Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be first-generation college student.
  2. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  3. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  4. Students must show financial need.

Azalea G. Gardner Endowed Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a resident of Nebraska.
  2. Students must be a single parent or displaced homemaker (someone who has lost their main source of income due to being widowed, divorced, or spousal disability).
  3. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  4. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  5. Students must show financial need.

BankFirst Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Consideration goes to Bank first employees and their dependents.
  2. Students must be enrolled full time.
  3. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  4. Students must show financial need.

Barrett Family Scholarship 

Qualifications: 

  1. Priority given to high school graduates in Northeast Community College’s 20-county service area.  
  2. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.  
  3. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher

Ben & Elda Powley Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a Nebraska High School graduate.
  2. Students must be a sophomore.
  3. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  4. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  5. Students must show financial need.

Betsy Broekemeier Memorial Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a current soccer or basketball athlete.
  2. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  3. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Bluejay Foundation – Wayne Gearhart Memorial Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be incoming freshman who graduated from Newman Grove Public Schools.
  2. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  3. Students must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  4. Students must show financial need.

Carl & Catherine Wellenstein Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be an incoming freshman who graduated from Ponca high school.
  2. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  3. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  4. Scholarship will be applied to books only.

Chapter HU PEO Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a graduate of Norfolk Senior High, Homeschool degree, or GED.
  2. Students must be a sophomore.
  3. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  4. Students must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Charles Wehrer Memorial Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  2. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  3. Students must show financial need.

Classified Staff Association Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a resident of Northeast Community College 20 county service area.
  2. Students must be a sophomore.
  3. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  4. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

College Center Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  2. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  3. Students must show financial need.

Connie Day Memorial Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be residents of Northeast Community College 20 county service area.
  2. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  3. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  4. Students must show financial need.

David & Freda Wolf Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. First preference given to graduates of Pierce High school.
  2. Second preference given to graduates of Pierce County.
  3. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  4. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Don & Patricia Smejkal/Bernard & Frances Delay Family Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a resident of Northeast Community College 20 county service area.
  2. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.

  1. Students must be in a vocational program of study.

  1. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.

Eagle Scout Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be an Eagle Scout.
  2. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  3. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Eleanor Fuhrman Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  2. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  3. Students must show financial need.

Elmer & Eunice Mohl Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a resident of Madison, Stanton, Wayne, or Pierce County.
  2. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.

  1. Students must be a graduate of Creighton High School.
  2. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.

Gary Kuester Memorial Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Preference given to students who are residents of Northeast Community College 20 county service area and desire to stay in the region after graduation.
  2. Students must be enrolled full time.
  3. Students must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  4. Students must show financial need.

Hawks Athletic Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a member of a Northeast Community College Athletic team.
  2. Students must meet the NJCAA standards.
  3. Students must be enrolled full time.
  4. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  5. Students must show financial need.

Heartland Physical Therapy Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be incoming freshmen.
  2. Students must be a graduate of one of the following high schools: Norfolk Senior High, Lutheran High Northeast, Battle Creek, Humphrey St. Francis, Elkhorn Valley, Newman Grove, Randolph, Osmond, or Plainview.
  3. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  4. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  5. Students must show financial need.

Jonathan & Barbara McIntosh Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  2. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  3. Students must show financial need.

LaRayne McIntosh Horn Memorial Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Preference given to non-traditional parents, US citizens, who reside in Northeast Community College 20 county service area.
  2. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  3. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  4. Students must show financial need.

Lee D. Rawhauser Memorial Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  2. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  3. Students must show financial need.

Lewis & Barbara Copple Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be residents of Northeast Community College 20 county service area.
  2. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  3. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Liberty Centre Services/McIntosh Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be client of Liberty Centre Services.
  2. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  3. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  4. Students must show financial need.

Livestock Judging Team Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a member of the livestock judging team.
  2. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  3. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Loutzenheiser Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a freshman.
  2. Students must be a resident of Nebraska.
  3. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  4. Students must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  5. Students must show financial need.

Madison County Home Extension Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a sophomore.
  2. Students must be a resident of Madison County in Nebraska.
  3. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  4. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  5. Students must show financial need.

Marlow Family Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must have completed at least one semester at Northeast Community College.
  2. Students must be a resident of Northeast Community College 20 county area.
  3. Volunteer services and Northeast Community College Club/Organization involvement is considered.
  4. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  5. Students must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  6. Students must show financial need.

Mason-Krause Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  2. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  3. Students must show financial need.

McIntosh Family Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  2. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  3. Students must show financial need.

Myles Patton Memorial Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a resident of Norfolk, Nebraska.
  2. Students must be enrolled in at least six credit hours.
  3. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  4. Students must show financial need.

National Auto Sales Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a freshman.
  2. Students must be a resident of Madison, Platte, or Colfax Counties in Nebraska.
  3. Students must be enrolled full time.
  4. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  5. Students must show financial need.

Norfolk Noon Rotary Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be residents of Norfolk Noon Rotary service area.
  2. Community service involvement is considered.
  3. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  4. Students must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Norfolk Rotary Club- McIntosh Family Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a graduate of Norfolk Senior High, Norfolk Catholic Hish School, or Lutheran High Northeast.
  2. Preference given to students that are The Zone after school program participants.
  3. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  4. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  5. Students must show financial need.

Norfolk Rotary Ralph T. Walker Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be enrolled in a two-year program of study.
  2. Students must be residents of Pierce, Madison, or Stanton County in Nebraska.
  3. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  4. Students must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  5. Students must show financial need.

Norfolk TeamMates Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must have completed Norfolk Teammates program successfully.
  2. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  3. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  4. Students must show financial need.

Northeast Community College Alumni Heritage Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a resident of Northeast Community College 20 County service area.
  2. Students must have a relative that graduated from Northeast Community College.
  3. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  4. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  5. Students must show financial need.

Northeast Community College Distance Learning Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be enrolled in distance learning courses.
  2. Students must be residents of Northeast Community College 20 county service area.
  3. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  4. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  5. Students must show financial need.

Northeast Community College Foundation Excellence Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a graduate of a high school in Northeast Community College 20 county service area.
  2. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  3. Students must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  4. Students must show financial need.

Northeast Community College TeamMates Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must have participated in our TeamMates program of a minimum of three years.
  2. Students must participate in TeamMates + Post-secondary program following high school graduation.
  3. Students must be enrolled full time.
  4. Students must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Northeast Staff Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  2. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  3. Students must show financial need.

Oscar & Clara Schurman Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  2. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  3. Students must show financial need.

Pathway to Leadership Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a sophomore.
  2. Students must be an active Northeast Community College Club member.
  3. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  4. Students must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Phi Theta Kappa Tau Chi Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a sophomore, or a freshman enrolled in their 2nd semester.
  2. Students must be a member of Phi Theta Kappa/Tau Chi Chapter.
  3. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  4. Students must have a GPA of 3.5 or higher.

Plainview Professional Education Association Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a graduate of Plainview High School.
  2. Students must be enrolled full time.
  3. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  4. Students must show financial need.

Richard Corkel Memorial Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a May graduate of Elkhorn Valley High School of Tilden and Meadow Grove, Nebraska.
  2. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  3. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  4. Students must show financial need.

Roger L. Shaffer Memorial Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a sophomore.
  2. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  3. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  4. Students must show financial need.

Ronald & Carol Krutsinger Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a sophomore.
  2. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  3. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Roots & Wings Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a foreign student.
  2. Preference given to students that show leadership and involvement in Northeast Community College activities.
  3. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  4. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Rosemary "Mony" & Cleve Walstrom Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Preference given to students that are Northeast Community College Dance or Cheer Team members.
  2. First preference given to students that are residents of Knox County in Nebraska.
  3. Second preference given to students that are residents of Northeast Community College 20 county service area.
  4. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  5. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Security National Bank Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. First preference given to students that are residents of Coleridge, Allen, Hartington, Laurel, or Osmond in Nebraska.
  2. Second preference given to students that are residents of Dixon, Cedar, Knox, Antelope, or Pierce counties in Nebraska.
  3. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  4. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  5. Students must show financial need.

Sid & Betty Cox Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  2. Students must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Student Excellence Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a sophomore that has completed at least 30 credits.
  2. Students must be enrolled full time.
  3. Students must have a GPA of 3.75 or higher.

Tracy & Daniel Kruse Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  2. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  3. Students must show financial need.

US 92 Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a single parent.
  2. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  3. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  4. Students must show financial need.

Vern & Lucille Fairchild Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be a resident of Northeast Nebraska (Diamond Dick District Scouting area).
  2. Students must be an Eagle Scout or received the Gold Award in Girl Scouts.
  3. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  4. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Vernon A. Putz Memorial Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be incoming freshman.
  2. Students must be a resident of Pilger Nebraska.
  3. Students must be a graduate of Wisner Pilger High School.
  4. Students must have good moral character.
  5. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  6. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.

Wells Fargo Nebraska, N.A. Scholarship

Qualifications:

  1. Students must be enrolled in at least six credits.
  2. Students must have a GPA of 2.0 or higher.
  3. Students must have income of $39,800 or less.
  4. Students must show financial need.
