The following are scholarships awarded by businesses, organizations, high schools, and communities. Each of these scholarships requires a separate application form and deadlines may vary. Click on the link or contact the appropriate contact to each scholarship for deadlines and application information. Scholarship listings are subject to change.
Scholarships
AGC Nebraska Chapter for Freshmen and Sophomores
DEADLINE: Please check application website for deadline.
Qualifications:
- Must be a graduating high school student, or enrolled, or plan to enroll, in a construction related program at a technical institute
- Must be a U.S. citizen, or documented permanent resident of the U.S
- Must have a desire to pursue a heavy-highway-utilities construction career
- Must enroll as a full-time student (at least 12 credit hours)
- Must have a minimum grade point average of 2.0 out of 4.0 “or” demonstrate achievement of competency
AK-SAR-BEN for Freshmen and Sophomores

Qualifications:
- Must be able to demonstrate financial need by submitting a Federal Student Aid Report (SAR) along with the application form
- Must be accepted for admission or enrolled at an eligible community college
- Must be a United States citizen who is a resident of Nebraska or western Iowa
- Must enroll as a full-time student (at least 12 credit hours)
- Current high school students must attach a high school transcript
American Public Power Association DEED Scholarship for Freshmen and Sophomores

- Must be accepted or enrolled full-time in a utility line program of study
AWS Foundation for Freshmen and Sophomores

Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in a welding related educational or training program
- Must be a high school graduate or have a G.E.D.
AWS Scholarships
Applications for 2025 AWS scholarships are now open. Students can apply for multiple scholarships with one master application. More than $2.5 million in scholarships will be awarded in 2025!
DEADLINE: The deadline to apply for National, District, and Section Scholarships is March 1st.
Children of Fallen Hero's Scholarship Act for Freshmen and Sophomores
Qualifications:
- Must be a Pell-eligible student whose parent or guardian died in the line of duty while performing as a public safety officer
- Must be less than 24 years of age

Clark E. DeHaven for Sophomores

Qualifications:
- Must be planning a career in the food service industry and major in a food service related field of study
- Must be enrolled at an institution that is a member of the National Association of Colleges & University Food Services
- Must be enrolled in an undergraduate program full time, in good standing, and have a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher
- Must be a U.S. or Canadian citizen and must attend college in the U.S. or Canada during the scholarship award year
- Must submit a transcript from all colleges attended
- Scholarship must be used for academic purposes such as tuition, fees, room and board, and/or books
DACA 1st Generation American Scholarship Application
Qualifications:
- A student must have an Application for Admissions on file.
- Student must be a DACA or 1st generation American.
- Must be enrolled at least part time (6 credits).
- Must show financial need and be worthy and deserving.

Electrical Generating Systems Association for Freshmen and Sophomores

Qualifications:
- Must be high school or G.E.D. graduates
- Must be full-time students at an accredited school
- Must have a 2.8 GPA
- Must show academic achievement, demonstrate admirable characteristics, and plan to seek employment in the On-Site Power Generation industry
ISA Educational Foundation for Freshmen and Sophomores

Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in a graduate or undergraduate program in an instrumentation, systems, or automation discipline at an educational institution in their country of residence
- Must have completed at least one academic semester or 12 semester hours or its equivalent
- Four year degree program applicants must be in their sophomore year or higher of their study or its equivalent at the time of application
- Must be full-time students in an educational institution and have at least an overall GPA of 2.5
National Scholarships
NE Eagle Scout Scholarship
The NE Eagle Scout Scholarship is established through the generosity of the late Walter Scott, Jr., an Eagle Scout who became a tremendous businessman, leader, and philanthropist. Mr. Scott credited his Scouting experience as being foundational to his character development and leadership success.
Graduating high school seniors who have achieved the rank of Eagle Scout, and currently live in Nebraska or Pottawattamie, Harris or Mills County, Iowa, are eligible to apply for the NE Eagle Scout Scholarship. The scholarship is valued at a total of up to $12,000, payable at $3,000 per year for up to four years at schools offering bachelor’s degrees. The scholarship is valued at a total of $6,000, payable at $3,000 per year for up to two years at schools offering associate degrees. Scholarship recipients may pursue any program of study.
Nebraska Department of Transportation Good Life, Great Journey Scholarship Program

Qualifications:
- Must be enrolled in fall semester in any of the Technical and Community Colleges in Nebraska in an automotive program of study
- Must have a minimum 2.5 grade point average or a “C+) - high school or 1st year tech school
- Must demonstrate responsibility and willingness to work toward vocational achievement
- Must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credit hours
Nebraska Rural Radio Foundation Scholarship

Qualifications:
- Applicants must be committed to the future of the industry of agriculture and rural communities in Nebraska
- Must presently be, or have been within the past six months, actively involved in farming and/or ranching
- Must be a U.S. citizen and resident of Nebraska for at least 10 years
- Must be between the ages of 25-55
TC Energy Scholarships for Freshmen and Sophomores
Several scholarships are available, including the Community Leaders Scholarship, Indigenous Legacy Scholarship, and the Energy Trades Scholarship.

The Nebraska Trucking Foundation for Freshmen and Sophomores

- Must be enrolled in truck driving or diesel technology
The Susan Thompson Buffett Foundation for First-Time Freshmen

Qualifications:
- Live in Nebraska and meet in-state residency requirements of the college you plan to attend
- Graduate from a Nebraska high school or earn a Nebraska GED
- Earn at least a 2.0 cumulative unweighted GPA in high school (or 77 on a 100-point scale)
- Plan to attend any of the Nebraska public colleges
- Be a first-time freshman when entering college. Students obtaining dual enrollment credits in high school are still eligible
- Be in need of financial assistance in order to attend college. Students do not need to be Pell Grant eligible to qualify. Students must have a Student Aid Index (SAI) below $10,000 in order to apply
