Staying compliant with environmental laws and regulations can be a daunting task. The Center for Enterprise offers customized and open enrollment training courses that will assist organizations and companies with their compliance needs. Our courses are updated and tailored to meet the ever changing environmental laws and regulations (federal and state level) that will face businesses and industry everywhere.

Courses

Basic Wastewater Treatment

This course presents a basic introduction into wastewater treatment. Following the completion of this class, participants will be familiar with the types of equipment available for wastewater treatment and the operations involved in monitoring and controlling discharges associated with a permit.

Clean Water Act (CAA)

This course presents an in-depth view of the development of the Clean Water Act and the resultant environmental regulations that followed. Following the completion of this class, participants will understand the environmental impacts that lead to the CWA and the areas of concern at their own facilities that may have an impact on the environment. They will also learn what steps can be taken to control these types of situations and what preventative measures are required by regulation.

Environmental Regulations Overview

This course presents a general introduction into the development of environmental regulations. Following the completion of this class, participants will understand the environmental impacts that are governed by these regulations, which types might exist at their facilities and what is necessary to control these types of situations and what preventative measures are required by regulation.

Laboratory Practices

This course will cover testing procedures and equipment, sample integrity, sample preservation, sample analysis, sample reporting, analysis review, QA/QC, performance testing and tracking and certification. Following the completion of this class, participants will be familiar with the day to day operations and requirement of a laboratory.

Pollution Prevention & Waste Management

This course presents a general introduction into pollution prevention and waste management. Following the completion of this class, participants will understand the environmental impacts that these wastes have and any regulations that apply.

Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure Plans (SPCC)

This course presents an in-depth view of the federal requirements for Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) plans. It also provides a complete analysis of the development of SPCC rules and regulations.

Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP)

This course presents an in-depth view of the federal requirements for Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans. It also provides a complete analysis of the development of SWPPP rules and regulations. Following the completion of this class, participants will understand the environmental impact that stormwater runoff from their facility may have on the environment. They will also learn what steps can be taken to control these types of situations and what preventative measures are required by regulation.
