We want growers to know that when a Wilbur-Ellis crop applicator is on the job, they can expect the safe and legal application of plant protection and fertilizer products. That means proper calculating of product and carrier quantities and mixing and applying plant protection and/or fertilizer products using various application equipment. ou’ll do well at WE if you bring: Good interpersonal skills – we want you to get along with other employees and our grower customers Strong time management skills with the ability to set priorities A commitment to positive communication with your supervisor and growers Solid written and verbal communication skills Ability to be detail-oriented with a wide range of responsibilities An ability to work with minimum supervision A clean DMV record Any Other Details about the Job? Here are the particulars. Proper application of fertilizer and plant protection products Process work orders against scheduled dates and time Comply with all applicable laws and regulations at all times Follow all Wilbur-Ellis Company safety rules Lift containers weighing up to 80 lbs Coordinate the use of the equipment and make sure that it is returned in good working condition. Perform a pre-trip inspection before leaving the yard Arrive at the correct job site without undue delay Correctly complete necessary paperwork (application records, shipping papers, daily driver report, and all info on work orders) Properly handle and store all chemical containers Ensure that equipment is repaired or serviced to avoid delays in equipment availability. Participate in blood testing and/or alcohol testing when scheduled Perform necessary maintenance and repair on equipment Assist as needed around the plant In compliance with all states and cities that require transparency of pay, the base compensation for this position ranges from $20.58 - $26.09 per hour. Compensation includes competitive hourly wage, extra pay on overtime, and a spray acre bonus for applicating. Wages and bonuses may vary based on location, skills, and experience. This position is also eligible for vacation and sick time, holidays, health, dental, vision, mental health, retirement plans, and other benefits.

- Absolute Musts: Be familiar with all laws and regulations governing pesticide application Commercial driver’s license with endorsements for Haz-Mat and Tank vehicles Comprehend basic measurements and calculations for calibration (gallons per acre and acres per tank) Have a working knowledge of all application equipment Be able to accurately locate the application site Posses a Qualified Applicator's Certification license and attends all required safety training meetings Complete bi-annual medical exams Participate in a DOT random selection for drug and alcohol testing Participate in a 30-day blood test for Cholinesterase Monitoring Ready to work odd hours during peak season (6-7 days, 10-14 hours, depending upon crew assignment, may be day or night) Ready to travel to other branches, meeting locations, or customer farms
