A Micro:bit Adventure for 4th – 8th graders in Norfolk!
Friday, Oct. 10
9:00 am – 3:00 pm
Intersect Coworking & Incubator
Join us for a hands-on tech adventure where you’ll learn, create, and explore with the BBC micro:bit—a tiny, powerful computer you can hold in your hand!
We’ll start with a quick introduction to micro:bit basics and wireless radio signals, then we will delve into fun activities with Block Coding.
- Activity 1: Design and code your own flashing name tag so everyone knows who the newest coder in the room is!
- Activity 2: Learn how micro:bits can “talk” to each other by teleporting emojis to friends across the room.
Lunch provided — fuel up for the big finale!
- Activity 3 (Finale): Put your new skills to the test in an exciting wireless treasure hunt! Use your micro:bit to track hidden “treasures” by following real radio signal clues.
Whether you’re a first-time coder or a budding engineer, you’ll have fun building, sharing, and solving challenges—all while learning real tech skills you can use again and again.
