How to add/drop a class
To drop a class, students can drop online during the first week of the semester. If you need to submit a formal drop request, complete the drop form and email it to admreg@northeast.edu. The form must include the student's signature to be processed.
Add or Drop a CourseHow to find your schedule
- Log into Canvas through your MyNortheast app
- Navigate to the Dashboard
- Once logged in, you should be taken to your Canvas Dashboard, where you can see a list of your courses.
- If you're not on the dashboard, you can click the Dashboard link in the left sidebar.
- Access the Calendar
- On the left-hand sidebar, you should see a Calendar link. This calendar displays your assignments, due dates, and events for all of your classes.
- Click on the Calendar link, and it will open a calendar view showing the dates for upcoming assignments and other course-related events.
Attendance
- Attendance verification is required for all students during the first week of class. Instructors are responsible for reporting by noon on the second Tuesday of the semester if a student has failed to attend. If a student does not establish attendance, they will be administratively withdrawn, meaning the course will not appear on their transcript.
- Students who fail to attend for 14 consecutive calendar days, as reported by their faculty, will be unofficially withdrawn. To avoid receiving an "F" on their transcript, students should "officially" drop the course if they have a "UF" (unofficial withdrawal) prior to the last day to drop. A "W" (withdrawal) on the transcript is preferable to an "F."
Academic Standing
- At Northeast, students are expected to make progress toward their educational goals, with academic standing evaluated at the end of each term. The academic standing categories are as follows:
- President's List: Requires a 4.0 GPA after at least 12 credit hours for full-time students or 6 credit hours for part-time students. Recognizes outstanding students.
- Academic Success: A GPA between 3.75 and 3.99 after at least 12 credit hours for full-time students or 6 credit hours for part-time students. Recognizes outstanding students.
- Good Standing: A cumulative GPA of 2.0 or higher. Students can pursue their academic goals without restrictions and must maintain a 2.0 GPA to graduate.
- Academic Warning: A cumulative GPA of 1.99 or less. Students are restricted to 12 credit hours and must meet with a First Year Advisor to create an Academic Recovery Plan. The restriction remains until their GPA returns to 2.0 or higher.
- Academic Probation: If a student on Academic Warning fails to earn a 2.0 semester GPA, they are restricted to 6 credit hours and must meet with a First Year Advisor to adjust their schedule. They remain on probation until their GPA improves to 2.0 or higher.
- Academic Suspension: If a student on probation fails to achieve a 2.0 semester GPA again, they face suspension for one semester (excluding summer). They must meet with a First Year Advisor and submit an appeal to re-enroll. Failure to meet requirements can result in a two-semester suspension.
- Academic standing also affects financial aid, veteran benefits, athletics, and housing. Students must follow Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standards to maintain eligibility for financial aid.

Token Instructions
Many of our students access our systems using their phones or other extensions on their computers for multi-factor authentication (MFA). If a student is unable to use either of these options, the high school can provide a token or request one from the college in special circumstances. If you believe a student needs a token, please contact your regional support representative, who can guide you through the next steps. Please note that any tokens provided by the college must be returned at the end of the semester.
