Fall Orientation is a student only event for our new freshmen, students transferring into Northeast and students returning to Northeast!
Join us to learn more about Northeast, the technology you will need, the services and resources available to you and ways to be successful as you become a Hawk!
Northeast Orientation ScheduleNew Student Registration Details
We are excited for you to register for classes. If you are enrolling for the first time and plan to take 6 or more credit, you must attend New Student Registration. You should have received a letter (or email) inviting you to the New Student Registration event. Below are your next steps to prepare for advising and registration.
Steps
- Confirm your attendance by submitting your RSVP.
- Contact Admissions and Registration (402) 844-7260 | admreg@northeast.edu if:
- You are not able to attend New Student Registration on the date and time listed in your invitation letter. We will reschedule you to another New Student Registration event later in the summer. Virtual appointments are available.
- You wish to change your program of study. The date and time of New Student Registration may change based on your new program.
- You have decided not to attend Northeast.
Steps
- RSVP to confirm your attendance.
- If not yet submitted:
- ACT, MAP or Accuplacer scores, current within 3 years.
If you don't have current ACT or SAT scores, contact the Testing Center to schedule a MAP test. - High school transcript.
- Official transcripts from prior college(s) (including Early College classes).
Submit your high School and prior college transcripts.

- Claim your My Apps account
- Click the “Claim Your Account Now” link under “New Students Start Here.”
- Complete the form.
- Read the Acceptable Use Procedures and click ACCEPT.
- If you click DECLINE, you will not be able to continue with claiming your account and logging in to the application.
- Note the User ID in the User Details form. This is your User ID to log in to your My Apps account.
- Enter answers to the secret questions. You can change the questions by clicking on the pencil icon under them. These can be used to reset your password in the future, if necessary. Once your secret questions are complete, click SUBMIT.
- Enter your personal cell phone number and email address.
- This information is necessary to reset your password yourself if you forget it.
- Set your password. Note the requirements in the box to the right of the form. Click RESET PASSWORD when complete.
- If the password is accepted and meets the criteria, you will momentarily see a box that says the password was confirmed and you are being redirected to the login screen.
- Log in to the application using the User ID or your College-wide ID number you were given in the claim process, and the new password you just created.
- Begin (or complete) Financial Aid Steps. Download the financial aid checklist
- CREATE AN ACCOUNT AND APPLY FOR FEDERAL STUDENT AID
- COMPLETE STEPS WITHIN THE FAFSA APPLICATION
- Submit the following to Northeast Community College if requested or applicable:
- Verification worksheet
- Student IRS tax return transcripts
- Parental IRS tax return transcripts
- Year-end documentation of untaxed income
- Year-end statement of child support paid

We are excited to offer a safe, in-person registration experience.
Day-of Tips
- Agenda - Plan to be on campus approximately 3 hours.
- Check-in
- Welcome and Information Session
- Meet with your advisor
- Family/Guest: Family Session
- Space is limited. You may bring no more than 2 guests with you to New Student Registration.
- Bring your invitation letter.
- Wear comfortable clothes and shoes. We are in Nebraska, so please dress in layers and you may want to bring a light jacket. You will spend part of the day walking around campus.
- Check the weather forecast and bring an umbrella or rain jacket if the forecast calls for rain.
- Review the campus map for details.
If you prefer to attend a Virtual New Student Registration event rather than an in-person event, please follow these steps.
Steps
- Watch the Virtual New Student Presentation video. You will need to put in the password you received in your New Student Registration letter/email.
- Complete the confirmation form at the end of the video.
- After completing the online presentation, you will receive an email with directions on scheduling your appointment. You do not need to contact your advisor before the appointment.
- If not yet submitted:
- ACT, MAP or Accuplacer scores, current within 3 years.

On the day of your virtual appointment, you will meet with your advisor via Zoom. All information you need to log in the day of your appointment will be provided to you. You and your advisor will discuss your classes and any other questions you might have.
- Please be at home or in a quiet location, if possible, where you can focus on your appointment.
- Make sure you have claimed your My Apps account. You will register for classes during your appointment so you will need to be able to access your account.

NEW STUDENT HEALTH REQUIREMENT
All new on-campus housing students are required to provide immunization records.
NORTHEAST EMAIL
You can access your student email by clicking on the student email icon in the My Apps portal.
SUPPORT SERVICES
Familiarize yourself with support services.
STUDENT LIFE AND LEADERSHIP
Familiarize yourself with student life and leadership opportunities.
CAMPUS JOBS
- Start looking for on-campus work opportunities, internships, and Federal work-study (FWS) opportunities.
- The work-study program provides jobs for eligible students who show unmet need. Student workers are paid biweekly as hours are worked. Most FWS students are employed on campus and work an average of 8-10 hours per week at a salary of at least minimum wage. Visit Financial Aid Programs or contact the Financial Aid office finaid@northeast.edu | (402) 844-7285 to learn more.
- Visit the Job Board and take a look at on-campus work opportunities and internships. If you are looking for an internship, choose internship from the Job Type drop down.
