  • Northeast hosts cyber security summit

    by jamesc  10/7/2016 9:39:47 AM --  NORFOLK – High school students were given the names “Legion of Doom” and “Anonymous,” among others, as they checked in for a special program through Northeast Community College’s information technology (IT) department. The sixty-four students from fourteen area high schools took part in the College’s first “Cyber Security and Software Development Summit” in the program’s Echtenkamp building here Wednesday.

Director of Theatre Adam Peterson will travel to Omaha later this month on behalf of the KCACTF to observe the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO)’s production of “Shakespeare’s Dog” and offer feedback to their students.

  • Northeast students participate in NET death penalty debate

    by jamesc  9/8/2016 9:18:01 PM --  NORFOLK – Several Northeast Community College students had a unique opportunity earlier this year to express their opinions on an extremely controversial topic that will be decided by Nebraska voters this fall. The students and Gary Timm, history / political science instructor, participated in a project sponsored by NET (Nebraska Educational Telecommunications) News called “Classroom Conversations: Nebraska’s Death Penalty Vote.”

  • Northeast HVAC instructors provide training, develop curriculum for national conference

  • Northeast men's soccer returns for second season, welcomes new coach

  • Northeast graphic design instructor honored for artwork

    by amandab  8/18/2016 8:20:07 AM --  MCCOOK - A Northeast Community College instructor has earned an award of excellence for his digital artwork at a statewide conference held recently in McCook. Phil Schimonitz, graphic design instructor, earned an Award of Excellence at the 52nd Annual Association of Nebraska Art Clubs (ANAC) Conference. Schimonitz exhibited his work, an untitled digital piece, as part of the St. Paul Art Guild at the conference.

  • Northeast names new West Point director

    by amandab  8/10/2016 9:59:25 AM --  WEST POINT - Northeast Community College has selected Kacie Borchers as its new director of the Extended Campus in West Point. Borchers, who previously served as Northeast’s director of TRIO Student Support Services Program, began her new position in July.

  • Northeast business students, faculty earn honors at national conference

  • Longtime Northeast employees retire

    by jamesc  8/5/2016 7:52:21 AM --  NORFOLK – Several longtime employees of Northeast Community College retired in 2016 after several years of service to the institution. In all, the nine retirees had a combined total of 244 years of working for the College.

  • Nipp named new Northeast vice president

    by jamesc  7/14/2016 4:08:23 PM --  NORFOLK – Northeast Community College has selected Amanda Nipp as its new vice president of student services. Nipp, who currently serves as the College’s dean of enrollment management, will assume the new position on July 18.
