    NORFOLK, NE – The role Nebraska agriculture plays in the global economy goes without saying. The state leads the nation in beef and beef product exports, commercial red meat production and popcorn production; second in all cattle and calves and hay production; and third in corn for grain production, corn exports and cash receipts from all livestock. There are several additional categories that put Nebraska fifth in overall agriculture production in the United States; the very reason why Northeast Community College places a heavy emphasis on the industry.

    Coordinating commission approves new agriculture facilities at Northeast

    LINCOLN, NE - New facilities to replace nearly 100 year-old buildings will be constructed at Northeast Community College. During Tuesday’s meeting of the Northeast Board of Governors, it was reported that the Nebraska Coordinating Commission for Postsecondary Education (CCPE) has approved programming statements for a new Veterinary Technology building and a Farm Operations and Large Animal building.

    Local Pinnacle banks support Nexus project

    NORFOLK, NE - Seven Pinnacle Bank branches in northeast Nebraska have come together to support Northeast Community College’s Nexus project. Pinnacle Bank in O’Neill, Verdigre, Neligh, Madison, Humphrey, Wisner, and Valentine have pledged $250,000 to the project to replace 100-year-old ag facilities on the college farm.

    Record number of students will travel internationally with Northeast in 2020
