    Northeast volleyball team recognized for academic excellence

The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) has announced that Northeast is one of 973 teams to have earned the AVCA Team Academic Award for the 2017-18 season.

    Northeast instructor earns recognition from American Welding Society

John Knapp has been selected as a co-recipient of the Howard E. Adkins Memorial Instructor Membership Award by Section 81-Nebraska of the American Welding Society (AWS).

    Northeast graduate from Brazil calls Nebraska his second home

    NORFOLK, NE - About four years ago, Allan Brenner said he had heard of Nebraska but wouldn’t have been able to pinpoint it on a map. His English was quite limited. Today Brenner speaks English rather fluently and calls the Cornhusker State his second home.

    Learning beyond the classroom at Northeast

    NORFOLK, NE – Many college students are enrolled in courses that meet in classrooms with in-person instructors, but other learners are beginning to expand their class time opportunities by not even stepping foot on campus at all. Northeast Community College is among institutions that has embraced “eLearning,” defined as any mode of instruction in which there is a separation in the time or place between the students and instructors.

    Forty-eight Northeast student athletes earn all-region academic honors

    AMES, IA – Several members of Northeast Community College’s athletic teams have earned post season academic honors. The forty-eight student-athletes have been named to the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC) Spring 2018 All-Region Academic Teams. Northeast is one of 14-members of the ICCAC.

    Students learn through Northeast's livestock judging team

    by jamesc  6/8/2018 10:14:41 AM --  NORFOLK, NE – Mike Roeber has been immersed in livestock judging since his days as a Cass County 4-H’er and Ashland-Greenwood FFA Chapter member. Those experiences led to being a university livestock judging team member, teaching livestock evaluation on the high school level and then serving as the livestock judging coach at Northeast Community College in Norfolk since January 1998.

    A brave new world awaits Malawian students at Northeast

    NORFOLK, NE – Northeast Community College has established partnerships with educational institutions in several countries, but its present work with a college preparatory school in Malawi is the first on the African continent for the Norfolk-based college. Three members of a delegation from Northeast recently returned from an eight-day visit that was centered around its work with Norfolk Schools in Malawi.
