    Midwest Bank joins Ag & Water campaign with $250,000 contribution

    NORFOLK, NE – A bank with several locations across Nebraska has joined the list of supporters of a project to build new ag facilities at Northeast Community College. Midwest Bank President & CEO Doug Johnson has announced a pledge of $250,000 to the Nexus campaign.

    Acklie Charitable Foundation contribues $5 million to Nexus campaign

From selling produce his family grew at his favorite corner on U.S. Highway 81 at the age of 10 to establishing one of America’s largest privately-owned trucking companies with his wife, Phyllis, he understood the importance and the role of education as the couple established a foundation that bears their last name. Now, the Acklie Charitable Foundation (ACF) is supporting a major initiative at Northeast Community College that will its ensure agriculture students have opportunities to succeed in their education as they train to become future employees in Nebraska’s number one industry.

    Ag & Water campaign launches; $5 million lead gift announced

    NORFOLK, NE – In an industry that is critical to not only Nebraska and the nation, but across the entire world, the agriculture department at Northeast Community College is at the forefront of developing future farmer-scientists. The institution has been recognized for its work in the area over the years and presently awards the eighth highest number of associate degrees in agriculture in the country. On Thursday, college officials launched a major initiative that will ensure agriculture students are succeeding in their education to develop the skills to become productive members of the workforce and the communities they serve.

    Luncheon honors scholarship recipients and sponsors

Students and their sponsors sat together and heard inspirational stories during the College’s Annual Scholarship Luncheon held in the Lifelong Learning Center recently.

    Northeast receives scholarship funds from Nebraska golf event

    Haas Foundation donates $10,000 for manufacturing scholarships

A representative of the Gene Haas Foundation recently presented a check for $10,000 to Dr. Michael Chipps, Northeast president, with the funds to be used for student scholarships.

    Northeast remembers J. Paul McIntosh

    NORFOLK – J. Paul McIntosh was well-known for his philanthropic efforts to benefit the welfare of others and promoting benevolence for the betterment of the community. The Norfolk businessman and developer, who died Thursday at the age of 92, also used his time and treasure to benefit generations of students at Northeast Community College.

    NORFOLK - A longtime supporter of Northeast Community College has established a new endowed scholarship for students of the College’s horticulture program. Renee Halsey, Norfolk, has created the R.E.N.E.E. H.A.L.S.E.Y. Scholarship, which stands for Rain Enhanced Nature Environmentally Enriching Horticulture through Attractive Landscaping Simply by Educating Youth.

    Holt Co. Visitors Committee Contributes $50,000 To O'Neill Campaign

    O’NEILL – The campaign to raise $2.5 million for a new Northeast Community College extended campus in O’Neill has received another significant financial shot in the arm. The Holt County Visitors Committee has contributed $50,000 towards the project that will see a new complex constructed on Highway 275, next to the Farm Credit Services of America building in O’Neill.
