    Northeast graduate named president of state veterinarian organization

    NORFOLK, Neb. - A graduate of Northeast Community College has been installed as the 2020 president of the Nebraska Veterinary Medicine Association. Dr. Jeremy Young of Elgin took office earlier this year. He is a partner in Town and Country Veterinary Clinic of Albion, St. Edward and Elgin.

During the pandemic, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has stated that it is critical that these individuals recognize what stress looks like, take steps to build their resilience and cope with stress, and know where to go if they need help.

    Lifelong tie to agriculture leads to Nexus gift

The Petersens, who live in Norfolk, but own and operate agricultural land in Cuming County, are contributing $30,000 to the capital campaign to update the agriculture facilities at Northeast.

    Northeast to be the site of Norfolk’s annual Independence Day fireworks extravaganza

    NORFOLK, Neb. – The COVID-19 pandemic is changing one of the ways that citizens of Norfolk and northeast Nebraska ring out the Independence Day holiday this year. Instead of holding its annual Boomfest nighttime display at Skyview Lake next month, Big Bang Boom Inc. will host a drive-in style fireworks show on the Norfolk campus of Northeast Community College.

    Northeast prepares to reopen with limited operations beginning June 17

    NORFOLK, Neb. – Northeast Community College is ready to begin to implement strategies that will allow increased access to facilities and services. The College has been closed since March due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Faculty and students concluded the spring semester using alternative delivery methods of instruction while many employees have been working remotely over the past three months.

Sixty-four Northeast Community College student- athletes who participated in programs in the spring are included on the list.

    Building construction instructors put their skills to the test

    NORFOLK, Neb. – Northeast Community College faculty members Roger Walker, Ryan Hobza and Curtis Brandt were able to continue to meet with their students through Zoom and other online platforms when the COVID-19 pandemic hit in March. However, there was the other more visible part of their program that they had to finish themselves.

    Northeast to begin fall semester early to end by Thanksgiving

    NORFOLK, Neb. – Northeast Community College will begin the Fall 2020 semester a week early in order to end instruction by Thanksgiving. Classes will now begin on Monday, August 17, and conclude on Wednesday, November 25.
