Wynot standout to play volleyball at Northeast

WYNOT, NE – A standout northeast Nebraska high school athlete will continue her sports career at Northeast Community College this fall.

Julia Eskens, of Wynot, who excelled in basketball, track and field, and volleyball for Wynot High School, has signed a letter of intent to play volleyball for the Hawks.

Amanda Schultze, Northeast volleyball coach, said she is pleased to welcome Eskens to her squad.

Julia is a great volleyball player who has a lot of potential. She is athletic and very strong in the middle. We are excited to have her join us in the fall!"

During her senior year for the Blue Devils, Eskens recorded 271 kills, 72 blocks, 91 digs, five set assists, and nine ace serves. She earned All-Conference honors from the Lewis and Clark Conference and was named team most valuable player.

Eskens joins a growing list of recruits on the 2018 Northeast volleyball team. Recent signees have included Elley Beaver of Scotus Central Catholic in Columbus, MaKayla Davidson, of Alliance, and Caitlin Kumm, of Osmond.
