Winter concert to be held at Northeast Community College

NORFOLK, NE - The music department at Northeast Community College will host its annual winter concert in February. The Northeast Community College Winter Concert will be held on Thursday, February 13, at 7 p.m., in the Cox Activities Center Theatre on the Norfolk campus. The event is free and open to the public.

The College/Community Concert Band, Concert Choir, and Men’s and Women’s Ensembles will take the stage.

Selections to be performed by the Community/College Concert Band include “Chant and Jubilo,” by W. Francis McBeth, “West Highlands Sojourn,” by Robert Sheldon, and “Liberty Bell,” by John Phillip Sousa and arranged by Keith Brion and Lora Schissel. 

Selections to be performed by the Northeast choral ensembles include, “Welcome, Welcome Winter,” by Greg Gilpin (Concert Choir), “My Favorite Things” from The Sound of Music, by Oscar Hammerstein and Richard Rodgers and arranged by Mac Huff (Women’s Ensemble), “How Can I Keep from Singing,” arranged by Sally DeFord and James Loynes (Concert Choir), Fire and Rain,” by James Taylor and arranged by Greg Gilpin (Men’s Ensemble), and “Remembering Decembers,” by Pinkzebra (Concert Choir).

The College/Community Concert Band is led by Kevin McLouth, instrumental music instructor/director of instrumental activities at Northeast.
