NORFOLK, NE – Students from 45 high schools and homeschools had the opportunity recently to learn more about educational offerings in several technical fields. The students took part in Northeast Community College’s Applied Technology Career Day on the Norfolk campus.
Shanelle Grudzinski, dean of applied technology, said guests took part in tours of campus and saw students work in the College’s applied technology labs.
“This was a day of opportunities for students interested in technical fields and construction to learn more about different career options, as well as a chance to experience the latest technologies, tools, and techniques used in today’s high demand, high paying career fields. The approximately 170 students took part in these activities in our state-of-the-art facilities.”
Programs hosting students included: auto body technology, automotive technology, building construction, diesel technology, drafting, electrical construction and control, electromechanical, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, machining and manufacturing automation, plumbing, utility line, welding, and wind energy.
Grudzinski said they also gave away four, $1,000 tuition waivers to four of the students at the end of
the day.
