Record number attend Northeast's Applied Technology Career Day

NORFOLK, NE - Northeast Community College Instructor Bill Barnes (right) shows Brandon Mellick (left) and Ben McDuffee, both of Ponca High School, how to operate a motor and light bulb with a simple Programming Logic Controller (PLC) program as part of Applied Technology Career Day on Northeast’s Norfolk campus recently.

A record 309 high school students attended the career day, which featured hands-on experience with the latest technologies, tools and techniques used in today’s high-demand, high-paying applied technology fields. Students attended sessions covering automotive technology, building construction, diesel agriculture, drafting, electromechanical, manufacturing technologies, utility line, wind energy and others.
