Employers invited to register for Northeast's part-time job fair

NORFOLK, NE - The Part-Time Job Fair at Northeast Community College in Norfolk will attract a large number of Northeast students this year, and area employers are invited to register for the event.

The Part-Time Job Fair will be held Tuesday, August 28, in the Lifelong Learning Center from 3 to 5 p.m. Employer registration is required, and the event is offered free of charge.

A six-foot table and chairs are provided for each employer. Employers are encouraged to bring applications, displays and/or samples of products.

Terri Heggemeyer, director of career services at Northeast, said the career fair offers an excellent opportunity for students to connect with potential employers.

“Working a part-time job not only puts a little cash in the bank for students, but it also enhances those workforce readiness skills that every employer is seeking.”

The Northeast Community College Career Services Office offers a variety of services to prepare students for today’s workforce. This includes providing one-on-one advisement and personal attention to students as they look for employment; daily postings to the Northeast on-line job board; assistance with writing and completing résumés, cover letters and applications, as well as lifetime employment assistance to alumni.

Northeast Community College offers over 120 programs and concentrations of study. These include technical, vocational, business, liberal arts and transfer programs.

Early registration for the Part-Time Job Fair is encouraged. To register, employers can visit https://northeast.edu/career-services and click on “Employers,” or contact Amy Koehler at (402) 844-7264. The deadline to register is August 14 or until space is filled.
