Robertson named to NFCA NJCAA All-Region First Team

LOUISVILLE, KY – Northeast Community College’s Savannah Robertson is one of 93 student-athletes to be named to the 2018 National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) NJCAA DII All-Region teams.

Robertson, who played first base, was named to the association’s Midwest Region First Team. She is the first Hawks’ softball team member to be recognized by the NFCA.

The awards honor softball student-athletes from the Association’s three regions with first-team recognition. NFCA member coaches from each respective region voted on the teams, and all the honorees now become eligible for selection to the 2018 NFCA NJCAA DII All-American squads.

“Savannah is a player you want on your team, said Hawks Coach Iris Woodhead. “She was feared in our line up and came up big for us so many times. She has numerous records for us which including hits, season (88) and career (168), batting average, season (.471) and career (.443), doubles, season (24) and career (42) and putouts, season (349) and career (571). Sav was a tremendous leader for us on and off the field.”

Robertson, Columbus, plans to attend Concordia University next year.

The 2018 NFCA NJCAA DII All-America teams will be announced on June 6.
