Hawks golf finishes 5th at Southeast Invite

BEATRICE, NE - The Northeast Community College golf team wrapped up the two-day Southeast Community College Spring Invite at the Beatrice Country Club here today, finishing in fifth place.

Northeast had a combined two-day team total of 343 (+112). Iowa Western Community College claimed first place with 291 (+7). Southeast came in second at 303 (+23).

Joel Durnford of Iowa Western took medalist honors, shooting 140 (-4) over the two days.

Brook Klinetobe led the Hawks, shooting a two-day total of 163 (+19) to place 19th. Andrew Schnoor finished with 170 (+26); Mason Stubbs, 172 (+28); Capp Bengston, 183 (+39); and Dylan Lilienthal, 193 (+49).

"The Northeast players were a little disappointed with the scores they shot today," said Kurt Pytleski, Hawks coach. "We will continue to practice hard to improve our scores."

Northeast is set to compete in the two-day Doane University's Men's Spring Invite on Friday in Lincoln at the Wilderness Ridge Golf Club and Saturday in Crete at the College Heights Country Club.
