Hawks men's basketball beats Southeast in OT

NORFOLK, NE - The Northeast Community College men’s basketball team completed their fourth game in four nights yesterday with an overtime win at home against Southeast Community College. Final score was 95-85.

With under a minute to play, the Hawks cut a late second-half Southeast lead to bring them within two points. Two late free throws by Jaquan Sanders sent the game to overtime, where Northeast forced the Storm to turn the ball over several times and were able to capitalize at the rim.

Steve Wooten led the Hawks with a 26-point, ten-board double-double. Melkisedek Moreaux added a double-double of his own with 19 points and 12 boards. Jeremiah Codden finished the night with 16 points, six rebounds and seven assists.

Northeast (6-4) will host Mount Marty College JV on Monday, November 27, at 7 p.m. at the Cox Activities Center in Norfolk.
