Hawks volleyball falls to #20 DMACC in four sets

BOONE, IA - The Northeast Community College volleyball team was defeated by Des Moines Area Community College (DMACC) here last night in four sets (25-19, 23-25, 25-19, 25-13).

DMACC is currently ranked 20th in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division II poll.

Taylor Lammers led the Hawks in kills with 10, while Monique Schafer had eight, and Macy Stewart, seven. Samantha Brester had two solo blocks and one assist block, and Lammers put up three assist blocks. Schafer and Stewart had one ace serve each. Digs were led by Peyton Roach with 32, while Savannah Nelson had 21, and Schafer, 19. Nelson led assists with 33.

Northeast (7-6) will compete in the Ridgewater College Tournament in Willmar, MN, this weekend. On Friday, they will face College of DuPage at 1:30 p.m. and Ridgewater College at 5 p.m. On Saturday, the Hawks square off against University of Jamestown JV at 10:45 a.m. and St. Cloud Technical College at 1:45 p.m.
