Hawks women's basketball signs transfer from Wyoming

SHERIDAN, WY - A transfer student from a college in Wyoming has committed to play basketball at Northeast Community College this fall. Matt Svehla, Northeast coach, said he has signed Judit Valls from Sheridan College in Sheridan, Wyoming.

Originally from Barcelona, Spain, Valls is a 6’1” forward. Last year at Sheridan, Valls averaged seven points and six rebounds per game.

While playing Spain, Valls was a member of the first team of UB Mataro in the Catalonia region.

“Judit will bring our program some experience and length,” Svehla said. “As a freshman, she had some games at Sheridan College where she was a real factor, and that experience will serve her well going into this season. She is a mobile player who brings good length at the forward position.”

Valls is one of three players from Spain to sign with the Hawks this fall. The women’s basketball season is set to begin November 1.
