Northeast Robotics Team Finishes Second in First Competition of Year

(NORFOLK, Neb.) – A Northeast Community College robotics team, Normandy SR2, recently finished second in the collegiate division of the first 2010-2011 Northeast/Wayne State College Robotics Competition.


Held at Wayne State College, the competition saw the Wayne State College Black Team finish in first place. Members of Northeast’s Normandy SR2 included April Taylor and Dalton Eddy, both of Norfolk;  Kevin Boisvert, Manchester, N.H., and Jacob Thomas, O’Neill. The Wayne State College Gold Team finished third in the collegiate division while the Wayne State Wildcats Team finished fourth.

In the high school division, the O’Neill Public High School White Team finished first, while the O’Neill Public Blue Team finished second. Battle Creek High School Team Two finished in third place and the Pierce High School Noble Team finished fourth. 

Battle Creek High School Team One placed fifth; the Pierce High Terminators finished in sixth place, the Station High Team Two placed seventh, and Stanton High Team One finished in eighth place.

The next Robotics Competition, sponsored by Northeast and Wayne State College, is Saturday, January 22, at the Lifelong Learning Center on the Northeast campus in Norfolk. The final competition of the season is Saturday, April 16, in the center court of the Sunset Plaza, Norfolk.

Northeast’s Richard Chrisman is the contest coordinator and Greg Sunderman is advisor for the Northeast robotics team.
