(NORFOLK, Neb.) - The Northeast Community College Drafting Club recently presented a check for $500 to the TeamMates Mentoring Program and another $500 check to Bright Horizons Resources for Survivors of Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.

The monies were raised last fall at the Corn Maze designed by drafting students. Members of the Northeast Diversified Ag Club planted the corn while Northeast’s utility line and electrical construction and control students provided the lighting.

Tony Stuthman, Drafting Club president, presented the checks to Joyce Kirschner of TeamMates, and Jenny Becker and Gina Clyde of Bright Horizons. All three expressed thanks to the drafting club for their generous donation. Kirschner also spoke to the drafting club students and instructors about volunteering to be a mentor.

Other Drafting Club officers include Andrew Gadeken, vice president, Jordan Cook, treasurer, and Michelle Veik, secretary. Harry Lindner, Wayne Cross, Danny Whitlock, Ryan Hobza, and Michael Holcomb are drafting instructors at Northeast.
