Northeast Community College Graduation Commencement Ceremony

Northeast Community College is changing its plans for the 2020 Commencement Ceremony. This year's ceremony will move to a virtual format.

Graduates from Summer and Fall 2019 and Spring 2020 will be recognized. The virtual ceremony will include pomp and circumstance, speakers with words of wisdom for the graduates and all graduating students will have their names read as their degrees are presented.

The first airing of the ceremony to celebrate the graduates and their accomplishments will be the same date and time of the original ceremony on the Norfolk campus – Saturday, May 16, at 10 a.m. It will air on the Northeast TV Channel KHWK – cable Channel 20 off campus, and will be livestreamed at After that date, the ceremony will be available on demand on the Northeast YouTube Channel.

Students are encouraged to gather with immediate family and ask their extended family and friends to join together virtually beginning at 10 a.m. on May 16. The Northeast Admissions and Registration Department will be sending graduates an email with more information on the ceremony and other details surrounding the event.
