Coronavirus (COVID-19) Cancellations

Northeast Community College events and activities and those hosted at any of the college's locations may be affected as a result of Northeast's response to COVID-19. Please check our recent announcements for the latest information.

Event/Student Services Information

All activities and events at all Northeast Community College locations have been suspended through the end of the spring term.

Change Grade from “C” or Higher to “P” or Pass by May 29, 2020

An option being provided to students this spring semester is the ability to change a final course grade of “A”, “B” or “C” to a letter grade of “P”, indicating Pass. By changing your grade to a “P”, it will not be calculated in your GPA. Students have until May 29 to select this option. Visit Records and Registration to learn more.

In-Person Campus Visits

In response to the spread of COVID-19, we have decided to cancel all large prospective student events and campus tours for the foreseeable future. We are offering Online Campus Visits for prospective students and parents to learn the Northeast experience, student life, and our academic programs. Sign up at

Credit Classes

All credit classes moved to online delivery March 23, 2020

Non-Credit Classes

Northeast has cancelled some Non-Credit classes through May 13th while other instructors are adjusting the class delivery format. We are doing our best to contact students enrolled in current and upcoming classes.

Academic Support

For the safety of our staff and students, the Northeast Academic Support Center will be conducting all tutoring, writers' clinic, and supplemental instruction online using Zoom. If you would like to request a tutor or need the Zoom link to any tutoring, please send a email to or you may call 402-844-7125. Due to the increased volume of calls please leave a message and your call will be returned.

You may also get additional information on requesting a tutor, scheduling writers' clinic appointments, and Zoom drop-in times by visiting Academic Support.

Disability Services

A message for our students: Due to developments concerning Coronavirus (COVID-19), the office of Disability Services will be providing services differently. We, like you, are transitioning into working differently. We understand that many aspects of your lives have been disrupted and requires adjustments. Going to all online instruction is going to be different for many. For some, adjusting may come easy and for others, it may present some unique challenges. Northeast Service Center

The Service Center is only available via email at or phone 402-844-HELP until further notice. Summer hours are Sunday 1pm-6pm, Monday-Thursday 7am-6pm, and Friday 7am-5pm.

Financial Aid Office / FAFSA Fridays

For the safety of our staff and students, the Northeast Financial Aid Office will be temporarily conducting all business online. We are dedicated to answering your questions and will be available to answer phone calls and email remotely. Please email with any questions or you may call 402-844-7285. If you do not reach an employee, please leave a voice message and we will return your call.

Currently FAFSA Fridays are cancelled due to the College being closed to the public; however, if you need assistance in completing your FAFSA please email, and we will schedule an appointment to assist remotely.

Change Grade from “C” or Higher to “P” or Pass by May 29, 2020

Students have until May 29 to select the option of Pass for one or more of your courses. Students must reach out to to discuss the Pass option with an advisor to make this grade change request. Note: Final grades and dropping classes can impact a number of important things like GPA, academic standing, financial aid, transferability of classes, athletic eligibility, and graduation plans.

Dropping A Course

If you are struggling in a course, please talk with your instructor or advisor about support options available to you prior to dropping. To drop a class, send an email from your preferred email address (that you have on file with Northeast) to The email should include your name, student ID, course name, and course registration number (CRN), and a statement that you would like to drop or withdraw from the noted course(s) and why. You can also download a drop form, complete the form, and then email the scanned form or a picture of the form from your preferred email address. Advisors and TRIO

Advisors and TRIO staff are working remotely for you. You can call their office phone or email them, and they will respond. Remember that summer registration is opening on Monday, April 6, and fall registration on Tuesday, April 14. Schedule your advising appointment now to develop your course schedules. Contact for assistance.


Limited telemental health counseling is available to students via face-to-face video conferencing. This service is available to students who are screened as being appropriate for this form of counseling. If you have never had a counseling appointment with Northeast’s counselor call (402) 844-7277 for a phone consultation. If you have previously met with the counselor, email or call to schedule an appointment.

Health and Wellness

If you are in the Norfolk area, you can continue to contact the Student Health Nurse at (402) 844-7176 during the following hours: Monday-Thursday 8:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. or Friday from 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. After hours or during the weekend, please call Faith Regional Urgent Care at (402) 844-8301 and explain you are a Northeast Community College student (office visit charges may apply). Please note, you must call in advance. Due to COVID-19 precautions, the nurse is not currently seeing students without an appointment.

Northeast Testing Center

The Northeast Testing Center will be closed for on-site testing effective Monday, March 23rd. Arrangements can be made to have placement exams proctored remotely.
