Acrylic: Abstract Florals

Abstract Florals is an acrylic-on-canvas exercise in color, shape and composition, and will be painted on a format of two 12x12 canvases. The finished work, truly unique to each artist, will be able to stand alone, or be hung side-by-side for a striking conversation piece. Step-by-step instructions will be given, but there will be plenty of room to make these canvases custom designs, since flowers easily lend themselves to interpretation. Invite a friend and share some inspiration! Wear old clothes or an apron and we'll provide the rest!

Acrylic: Spring Blossoms Falling

The gentle silence of pink and white fluttering, falling, apple and cherry blossom petals brings a universal peace to those who have been pining for spring. Create a lovely painted tribute to this once-a-year occurrence on a tall, 12x24 canvas. Somewhat abstract, this piece of art will follow general instructions, but will indeed be unique to each painter in how the brushstrokes are applied. Enjoy some time painting with friends. A good class for all experience levels. Wear old clothes or an apron and we'll provide the rest!

Headstones and History

The Irish have always loved a good story, and in a prairie town begun by Irish settlers, a few of those good stories are sure to be found at the local cemetery. Instructor Natalie Butterfield will draw on insider knowledge, with family going back 140 years here, to share “the stories behind the stones” at the historic O’Neill Cemetery. Besides answering general questions like “What’s with those concrete tree trunks?”, you will hear tales of heroism, hilarity, and undying love. Meet men who risked their lives in dedication to duty, like William Froelich, the remarkable Kearns brothers, and hear of a blood feud that lasted beyond the grave. Learn of the saintly Monsignor, Michael Cassidy, and of the Angel of Corregidor, along with rebels, renegades, and ordinary people enduring extraordinary events. You will gain a deeper knowledge of these fascinating personalities and their circumstances, in a way that must be experienced to be understood. This class will meet the first night at the O’Neill Extended Campus, for a discussion and presentation, and will conclude with a walking tour of the cemetery on the second night of the class.

Variable Rate Irrigation: Possibly the Best Money You Can Spend

With the concern surrounding our water resources in the recent years, there is more and more attention being given to the most critical resource on the planet: Water. The purpose of this offering is to increase the understanding and realization that utilizing Variable Rate Irrigation (VRI) helps address the concerns of our agriculture communities.

With the utilization of VRI, producers can make steps to address these concerns. Preserving resources by reducing the total amount of water applied. Increasing yield potential by getting the inches to those acres that need them the most. Increasing plant health in areas that tend to get wet feet. The impact can be vast.

Come join us for training on a Precision Agriculture technology that can help to address natural resources concerns, while having a direct positive impact to your bottom line.
