Agri-business Seminar

This class will cover, in detail, the sales tax exemption for commercial agricultural producers on the purchase and repair of equipment. Discussion will include qualifying agricultural operations, equipment and parts, and how to obtain a refund for tax paid on parts for depreciable agricultural equipment purchased prior to October 1, 2014. Exemptions for feed, seed, and chemicals will be explained. A portion of the session will be dedicated to contractors who build structures, such as grain bins used in agricultural operations. Instructors will teach participants how to complete tax returns for a variety of scenarios, as well as related exemption and refund forms. This session will benefit farmers, implement dealers, equipment suppliers, and parts store owners, as well as those who operate machine shops and other types of repair facilities. It is also relevant to feed & seed suppliers. 3 hours of CPE credit available. This course will be offered via distance learning technology from Norfolk to Ainsworth, O'Neill, and West Point.

CDL Training - O'Neill/Norfolk

Instruction will include everything you will need to know to pass the license exam, pre-trip inspection, and practical driving test. You will spend 16 hours in the classroom that will prepare you for the written test needed to obtain a learner's permit. You will then complete the 40-hour driving portion of the course in Norfolk, which will culminate with a driving test. The testing fee is included in the course cost. The classroom portion will be completed September 19 - 20 at the O'Neill Extended Campus. The driving/testing portion will take place at Norfolk Campus October 15 - 19. Driver's Education

This is a Provisional Operators Permit Driver Training course for individuals 14-17 years old. You will acquire the basic skills to operate a vehicle. Bring Learner's or School permit to the first class. 20 hours of classroom and at least 6 hours of driving are required. The book is provided for the class. Parents/Guardians are asked to attend the first part of the first class along with the student. The driving experience will be arranged with the student.

Gas Metal (Mig) and Flux Cored Arc Welding

In this 90-hour course, you will gain a technical understanding of Gas Metal Arc Welding (Mig) and Flux-Cored Arc Welding. You will be instructed on welding safety, equipment adjustments, metal transfer, shielding gases and you will gain proficiency in gas-shielded and metal core procedures. Welding will be done in all positions on thin gauge to thick mild steel carbon material, single and multiple pass, fillet and groove welds. The course will also provide you an understanding of oxyacetylene cutting as well as safety practices in cutting. Dedicated time will be dedicated to Mig welding of aluminum in various positions. Upon completion of the course, you will be able to perform production and maintenance welding, structural welding, and other related medium to heavy-duty manufacturing welding. Qualification testing will be conducted and in accordance with the American Welding Society (AWS) D1.1 Structural Welding Code. If you are able to show proficiency in each of the welding processes, you may be qualified. The total tuition for the class and testing is $2750.00. Two books are required and can be purchased at the College Book Store or by calling 402-844-7140. Nurse Aide

This course is designed to meet the Nebraska Health & Human Services System training requirements for nurse aide certification and employment in long-term care facilities. This course combines classroom lecture and laboratory application for the development of basic skills needed to provide safe, effective, and caring services to the elderly or chronically ill patient of any age, in a long-term care facility. Upon completion of this course, the student is eligible to take the state written and practical skills exam. After successfully passing this examination and completing the application procedure, the students name will be placed on the basic nurse aide registry at the Nebraska Health and Human Services Regulation and Licensure, Credentialing Division. The book is located in the campus bookstore, 402-844-7140. CLASS CANNOT BE REGISTERED ONLINE. An additional $45 fee will be required if student choose to register to take the Certified Nursing Assistant exam at the end of the course.
