Advanced Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) TIG

The Gas Tungsten Arc Welding lecture/lab course is designed to teach students about arc welding safety and Gas Tungsten Arc welding process (GTAW-TIG) and power techniques for welding. Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to perform general entry level production and maintenance welding on mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum thin gage material. The course does not include thick plate, pipe, or other structural shapes. Supplies needed include: helmet, welding cap, clear safety glasses, pliers, diagonal cutting pliers, welding coat, TIG gloves, stainless steel wire brush.

Medication Aide

Motorcycle Rider Course

The Motorcycle Rider Course (MRC) is a 15-hour course which includes 5 hours of classroom instruction and 10 hours of riding instruction. The course begins with the basics of turning, shifting, and braking and then moves onto the advanced skills and strategies for street riding. Professionally trained instructors teach in the classroom and then coach riders in a controlled riding area. Within 30 days of course completion, participants are required to take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Basic eCourse. Details regarding eCourse will be sent to you after registering for the MRC course. There is no additional cost for the mandatory eCourse.

Nurse Aide

This course is designed to meet the Nebraska Health & Human Services System training requirements for nurse aide certification and employment in long-term care facilities. This course combines classroom lecture and laboratory application for the development of basic skills needed to provide safe, effective, and caring services to the elderly or chronically ill patient of any age, in a long-term care facility. Upon completion of this course, the student is eligible to take the state written and practical skills exam. After successfully passing this examination and completing the application procedure, the students name will be placed on the basic nurse aide registry at the Nebraska Health and Human Services Regulation and Licensure, Credentialing Division. Professional Truck Driver Training

The training program is an intensive course. The students will go for night drives and long runs during the course. This entails gone for a week, overnights and 14-hour days. Students will learn to operate articulated vehicles in a training environment that includes driving on city streets, two-lane, and interstate highways. The program includes 240 contact hours, 44+ hours of behind the wheel training and 190 hours of classroom, lab, and observation. An ESL test will be provided if necessary. Tuition does not include the cost of books, DOT physical, drug screen, MVR report, learner’s permit or the CDL license. The Norfolk location offers six-week course scheduled Monday through Friday, meeting 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Financial assistance is available through the Community College GAP Assistance Program for students meeting income guidelines.
