Advanced Cardiac Life Support

This course encompasses knowledge and techniques which are utilized in the definitive management of a cardiac arrest or similar life-threatening emergency. Participation in this course enables the registrant to review didactic material as well as practice lifesaving techniques and skills under the direction of an instructor in a simulated situation. Completion of this program is based on criteria established by the American Heart Association. Basic Cake Decorating I

Driver's Education

EMT Part I

This course is dedicated to the study and application of the knowledge and skills necessary for an individual to become an Emergency Medical Technician and provide emergency medical care at a basic life support level with an ambulance service or other specialized service. The course will include the first half of the applications/skills needed to apply for licensure as an EMT in the State of Nebraska. After successful completion of this course and EMTL-1845 the student will be eligible to apply to test for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technician (NREMT) cognitive examination. Once the student has passed both the cognitive and practical skills examinations of the NREMT he/she can apply to obtain an EMT license in the State of Nebraska. Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW) MIG

This course provides you with a technical understanding of GMAW safety, equipment adjustments, metal transfer and shielding gases. Welding will be done in all positions on mild steel carbon material, single and multiple pass using short circuit transfer. Groove welds may also be performed as time permits. Course also provides understanding of oxyacetylene cutting as well as safety practices in cutting. Introduction to Welding

Northeast Community College welding courses are a great way to enhance the skill level for the fundamental welder or give a solid background and overview of welding for the non-welder. Manufacturing Machinery and Equipment Seminar

This class will cover, in detail, the sales tax exemption for purchases of equipment used in the manufacturing process. Parts and repair labor for MME is included in this topic. Discussion will include qualifying manufacturing operations and which equipment qualifies for the exemption. This course is designed to prepare the student to meet the requirements of the Medication Aide Act and the responsibilities of the medication aide in an assisted living facility and/or nursing facility. This course includes information regarding medication administration, pharmacology, rules and regulations, classification of drugs, orders, storage, abbreviations and an overview of commonly used drugs and documentation. Upon completion of this course, the student is eligible to take the state administered written exam. After successfully passing this examination and completing the application procedure, the student's name will be placed on the medication aide registry at the Nebraska Health and Human Services Regulation and Licensure, Credentialing Division. Motorcycle Rider Course

The Motorcycle Rider Course (MRC) is a 15-hour course which includes 5 hours of classroom instruction and 10 hours of riding instruction. The course begins with the basics of turning, shifting, and braking and then moves onto the advanced skills and strategies for street riding. Professionally trained instructors teach in the classroom and then coach riders in a controlled riding area. Within 30 days of course completion, participants are required to take the Motorcycle Safety Foundation Basic eCourse. Details regarding eCourse will be sent to you after registering for the MRC course. There is no additional cost for the mandatory eCourse.

Nurse Aide

This course is designed to meet the Nebraska Health & Human Services System training requirements for nurse aide certification and employment in long-term care facilities. This course combines classroom lecture and laboratory application for the development of basic skills needed to provide safe, effective, and caring services to the elderly or chronically ill patient of any age, in a long-term care facility. Upon completion of this course, the student is eligible to take the state written and practical skills exam. After successfully passing this examination and completing the application procedure, the students name will be placed on the basic nurse aide registry at the Nebraska Health and Human Services Regulation and Licensure, Credentialing Division. An additional $45 fee will be required if student choose to register to take the Certified Nursing Assistant exam at the end of the course.
